Focus and Scope

El-Mudawanat is an open-access journal focusing on contemporary Islamic legal research, encompassing Islamic family, criminal, constitutional, private, and economic law. The journal adopts a multidisciplinary approach that connects Islamic legal theory and practice in Indonesian and global contexts. However, novelty and relevance of issues are prioritized in publication.
The journal provides a platform for researchers and academics to contribute original work that explores new perspectives, theories, and challenges in the application of Islamic law. El-Mudawanat also serves as a source of up-to-date information on the ever-evolving practice and theory of Islamic law.
As an open-access journal, El-Mudawanat ensures its articles are freely accessible to readers worldwide. Published by the Postgraduate Program of the State Islamic University of Mataram, the journal is independent of external sponsors. It maintains the integrity of the peer-review process as well as the privacy of authors, reviewers, and readers.
