Plagiarism

Plagiarism Policy

At EL Dirham, we are committed to maintaining the integrity and quality of the research we publish. Plagiarism undermines this commitment and compromises the academic credibility of both the author and the journal. As such, we adhere to strict anti-plagiarism policies to ensure that all submitted manuscripts are original and free from any form of plagiarism.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is defined as the use of someone else’s ideas, research, or words without proper acknowledgment or citation. This includes:

  • Copying and pasting text from other sources without citation.

  • Paraphrasing another author’s work without proper attribution.

  • Using images, tables, or data from other sources without permission or acknowledgment.

  • Submitting the same manuscript or a previously published work (self-plagiarism).

Plagiarism Detection

All submitted manuscripts will be checked for plagiarism using reliable plagiarism detection software, such as Turnitin. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% will be flagged for review. If plagiarism is detected or if the manuscript significantly overlaps with existing works, it will be subject to rejection.

Consequences of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is identified during the submission or review process, the manuscript will be immediately rejected. Authors may be prohibited from submitting to the journal in the future, depending on the severity of the plagiarism.

Prevention and Best Practices

  • Authors are encouraged to properly cite all sources and use quotation marks for direct quotes.

  • Authors should be transparent about their research process, including sources of data, and make sure all contributors and sources are appropriately acknowledged.

  • We encourage authors to use citation management tools like Mendeley  to ensure proper referencing.

Author Responsibility

The authors are fully responsible for the originality of their manuscript. By submitting their work to EL Dirham, they confirm that the work is free from plagiarism and that all sources are properly cited.

Ethical Review

In cases where plagiarism is detected after publication, EL Dirham will take appropriate actions, including issuing a retraction of the paper and informing readers. The ethical review process ensures that the journal upholds the highest standards of academic integrity.
